Important
Bold reference numbers in this section identify parts not shown in the figures alongside the text, but which can be found in the exploded view diagram.
Removal of the radiator

Loosen the clamps (14) on the coolant hoses (15) and (2); disconnect the hoses from the unions on the radiator (10).
Loosen the clamp (A) and remove the expansion tank-radiator hose (B).
Loosen the screw (3) with the spacer (4) fixing the water radiator on the right side of the frame.
Loosen the screws (3) with spacer (4) fixing the radiator on the left side.
Disconnect the wiring connectors of the main wiring loom (C) from both fans.
Remove the water radiator (10) from the vehicle, by sliding it from the pin (D).
Radiator inspection
Visually inspect the oil cooler. If it shows signs of damage or leaks, the radiator must be renewed.
Check also that the air flow through the radiator core is not obstructed by leaves, insects, mud, etc.
Important
Excessive cooling temperatures can be caused by a partial obstruction of the radiator core.

Carefully check the condition of the radiator core.
Renewal of the cooling fan
Unscrew the three fan retaining screws (8) and remove the fan (11) from the radiator.
Repeat the above operation for the other cooling fan (9).
Upon reassembly tighten the screws (8).
Refitting the radiator
Check that there are vibration damper mounts (5) on the radiator brackets (10) and that the support is fitted (27).
Insert the radiator support (10) into the pin (D).
Tighten the screw (3) with spacer (4) on the left and right side.
Position and tighten the retaining screws (3) to the torque of 10 Nm± 10% (Sect. 3 - 3, Frame torque settings).
Reconnect the fan wiring to the main wiring loom (C).
Insert the cooling system pipes (15) and (2) in the corresponding unions on the radiator and tighten the clamps (14) to a torque of 2.5 Nm ± 10% (Sect. 3 - 3, Frame torque settings).
Insert pipe (B) that connects the water tank-radiator on the radiator plug inlet with clamp (A) and tighten the latter to a torque of 1 Nm ± 10% (Sect. 3 - 3, Frame torque settings).

Removal of the cooling system hoses and unions
Loosen the fixing clamps (14) of the water radiator (10) pipe (2) and the fixing clamps of the radiator/thermostat sleeve (15) to the thermostat.
Loosen the clamps (14) and (17) securing the thermostat assembly (16) – thermostat-cylinder head hose (18) – thermostat-cylinder head hose (22).
Loosen the clamps (14) to disassemble the thermostat unit (16) - thermostat/head sleeve (18) - thermostat/head sleeve (22) - radiator pump pipe (2).
Unscrew the screws (12) and remove the union (20).
Recover the O-ring gasket (19) located between the retainer and the vertical head.
Unscrew the screws (12) and remove the horizontal cylinder union (1).
Collect the O-ring gasket (19) located between the retainer and the horizontal head.
Important
Periodically check the connection hoses for leaks.
Hoses that are cracked, swollen, or hardened should be renewed.
Refitting the cooling system hoses and unions
Install a gasket (19) in the seat of the horizontal head retainer (1) and one in retainer seat (20).
Fix the fitting (1) on the horizontal head by means of the screws (12) with prescribed threadlocker, and tighten them to a torque of 6 Nm (Min. 5 Nm - Max. 7 Nm) (Sect. 3 - 3, Frame torque settings).
Fix the fitting (20) on the vertical head by means of the screws (12) with prescribed threadlocker, and tighten them to a torque of 6 Nm (Min. 5 Nm - Max. 7 Nm) (Sect. 3 - 3, Frame torque settings).
To assemble the thermostat unit (16) - thermostat/head sleeve (18) - thermostat/head sleeve (22) - radiator pump pipe (2) position the clamps (14) and tighten them to the torque of 2.5 Nm ± 10% (Sect. 3 - 3, Frame torque settings).
Position the thermostat unit (16) thermostat/head sleeve (18) - thermostat/head sleeve (22) with clamps (14) and (17) and tighten them to a torque of 2.5 Nm ± 10% (Sect. 3 - 3, Frame torque settings); then tighten clamp (17) to the torque of 1 Nm ± 10% (Sect. 3 - 3, Frame torque settings).
Position the pump /radiator pipe (2) and the radiator/thermostat sleeve (15) with the clamps (14) and tighten the clamps to the torque of 2.5 ± 10% (Sect. 3 - 3, Frame torque settings).
